Swap Party

Unknown

First, I would like to start by thanking everyone that entered the Giveaway! I really appericate the comments and suggestions. I will be working to incoporate the ideas that you have given me into my blog. I have contacted the winner, and she is looking forward to receiving her goodies. I look forward to doing more giveaways in the future. Thank you again to all that entered, I really value your suggestions and opinions.

Last week I hosted a Swap Party.  A Swap Party is an opportunity for your to go through your closet and drawers and sort though slightly used (no junk!) items that you do not have use for. These items may include makeup, clothing, jewelry, nail polish, hair products..the list can go on and on. If you see something you want that someone else may have, and you have something they want you swap these items. Its almost like shopping for free! That night i swapped some earrings and bracelets, for a new curling iron, hair dye, and jewelry.

I should have taken pictures of my friends that  attended the party and the amazing meal that I prepared but as we all know I am terrible when it comes to remembering to take pictures.  This year I will make an effort to take pics of just about everything! I think it will be easier when I get a new phone, because the camera on my phone is trash! But anyway, plan a get-together and swap items with friends.

Birthday Weekend

This past weekend I spent my birthday in Orlando, Fl., with my cousin Chantel, my Uncle, and my cousin’s friend Danna.  I had a blast.  It was nice to get away from this blistery cold New Jersey weather. Nothing beats wearing sandals and dresses in January. 🙂 As you may have realized by now, I am not good when it comes to pulling out my camera and taking pics, I always remember when its to late. SMH

These photos are from the night of my birthday, we went to a club in downtown Orlando, I had soooo  much fun!!

A Night on the Town

Sorry I am a little late posting, I thought I had lost my camera, I was devistated but I found it and all is well. 🙂 But anyway, Last Thursday, me and a few of my friends went to “Girls Night Out”, a social event for women to mingle and shop in local stores and boutiques.  Some for the stores were offering up to 25% off your entire purchase, others were giving away prizes and gift bags, but one thing they all had in common was free food and drinks, this was to keep the customers in the store.  I have attempted to put myself on a budget so I only purchased one item, a pair of sunglasses, even though I told myself I was not buying anything. But they were are great buy! I will post pics of my new sunnies later.

I decided to dress comfy because I would be walking around and I was advised not to dress up. LOL.

This boutique had really great clothes, great styles and a variety of spring and summer colors.

One of my male friends met up with us quickly since he was in the area.  I like what he had on so I asked him if I can feature him here on my blog here goes.

What do you think?

I Wore:

Hibachi Night Out

Hey all, I hope your weekend is going well, mine is busy, busy, busy.  Last night I went to dinner at a local Hibachi spot. The food and drinks were great, I had a good time.  I would have like to wear a dress, but the weather in NJ is up and down, and last night it was a pretty chilly out. So I opted for leggings with a blazer and leopard pumps. Here are the pictures:

I know, my shirt is straight see-through, it didn’t appear that way with the naked eye, but I think the flash of the camera enhanced it. And yes my eyes are closed, smh.

I took my head out of this picture because my photographer was snapping pics before I was ready.

My Fav shoes at the moment.

When I bought my blazer I didn’t have a chance to try it on, I thought it was cut a little different and more fitted, so to fix that problem, I pinned it for a gathered look. What do you think??

Just a pic of the onion volcano.

I hope you all enjoy the pics.  Toodles..  Enjoy your weekend 🙂

NJ’s Full Figured Fashion Week Sneak Peek Day 2

Hey all, I am sorry I have been slacking, I have been MIA, just been a little busy with different things going on around me. This is just going to be a quick post on of Day 2 like a promised. ENJOY 🙂

This was the best night of the sneak peek weekend.  The venue was gorgeous. Everything about it was beautiful and elegant. The fashion this evening was by far the best of the two nights.  The designers were well chosen for such special evening.  The quality of their designs surpassed all my expectations, being that they were very low because of the night before, lol, I have to be honest.

Carl Thomas was there, he preformed, and he still got it-meaning his voice!!! He’s handsome though.

This is during his performances.

Here are a few of his most popular songs.  Sorry I could not figure out how to rotate the video. But watch closely Carl Thomas is funny on  the low. Some parts of the videos he really has me laughing.  **For some reason I can not figure out how to get the videos posted but as soon as I do, I will put them up, Sorry 😦 **

This is what I wore.

Jacket: Vivienne by Vivienne Tam

Tank-top: Target

Pants: Thrifted [they were supposed to be cropped the but hem I put in them fell when I got to the venue 😦 ]

Shoes: Aldo

Clutch: Thrifted

Hope you enjoyed!

New Jersey’s Full Figured Fashion Week Sneak Peek Day 1

This past weekend I attended New Jersey’s Full Figured Fashion Week  Sneak Peek, hosted by Nfinite Form.  The events took place at several different venues.  The full fashion show will take place in September, in Atlantic City.

Friday was the first night of the event, it was held at Wilshire Grand Hotel’s  The Loft in West Orange.  There was a red carpet fully equipped with paparazzi and media, although I missed it.  The Loft was an extremely nice venue, but I don’t think that Nfinite Form showed cased the best/quality designers that night, I can truly say I was disappointed.

Here are some of the designs (I didn’t have the best angle to take pics that night):

You can tell the quality of the show when you see the model’s undergarments.

This is one of the designers:

Here is the next collection, the best of the night!

Front:                                                                    Back:

Another look:

This is one I would wear, I love the lace:

Last collection of the night, SMH:

These were horribly made and not flattering at all!

**They did not give a list of designers, therefore I do not know who designed each collection**

I also ran into Doria Pagnotta from the hit show Jerseylicious. She is soooo pretty in person, very approachable and friendly. Love her. She is definitely not the character they portray on the show. My friend Latoya was there as well, she got us the press passes.

Lastly this is what I wore:

Blazer, Purse & Necklace: Thrifted

Tank-top and Ring: Forever21

Jean Shorts: Old Navy

Shoes: Nine West

Watch: Target

Hope you enjoyed, my next post will be Day 2 of New Jersey’s Full Figured Fashion Week Sneak Peek! Stay tuned 🙂
